After decades in the wine business taking people abroad to experience the magic of Italy, we decided that we are in a unique position to guide people in key wine regions in Italy, especially with our connections to unique and prestigious wineries. We strive to offer people the experience to enjoy world-class wine paired with culinary delights and local cuisine – either traditional or innovative – while walking the vineyards and resting in upscale or traditional accommodations. To elevate this experience, we also offer time to shop, tour cities, take a cooking class or relax at a spa. In short, we’re here to guide you through a complete enogastronomic experience with time to enjoy Italy at a relaxed pace, the way we have ourselves.

Anne is our President and resident wine expert with an extensive background in the wine business
"For more than two decades, wine has taken me places I never imagined—from importing wines and working with restaurants to walking vineyards in Italy with the families who have cared for them for generations.
Today, my mission is simple: help people discover that wine doesn't have to be intimidating. It should be joyful, delicious, and connected to the places and people behind every bottle."
From running her own business to representing world-class wines – Anne had 27 years of industry experience before starting Excursions by Burgio. She has worked in all facets of the industry, including working as a sales representative, District Manager and VP of Sales. She also founded and ran her own wine import company, Snarky & Spirited, which primarily focused on Italy, Spain, France and Germany.
Along with her extensive experience, Anne holds a Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) diploma. Only 180 people around the world obtain this degree each year and it has only been earned by roughly 10,000 people globally since 1968. Most importantly, she is a master of fun and wants to pass along the joy she's found in wine and in life.
